The Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project, conducted by Disabled Sports USA, is a nationwide program providing year-round sports rehabilitation activities to help rehabilitate our nation's severely war wounded. Over 60 events are held in 12 sports, from downhill skiing to rock climbing to water sports, at sites throughout the country, free of charge to all participating Wounded Warriors and their family members. The Project funds the transportation, lodging, adaptive equipment, and individualized instruction.
This grass roots effort has depended upon the generosity of individuals and corporations to support efforts to give a new lease on life to these young men and women who have put their lives on the line to defend our country. As "Wounded Warriors", they are now fighting a different kind of battle to rebuild their lives as they begin to repair their wounds suffered in combat. The successful experiences offered by the Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project provide a foundation to build self-confidence and motivation to succeed in rehabilitation and life. From their experiences, they realize the Projects motto: "If I can do this, I can do anything!"
